Christensen Talks Beast Of Bataan

"It's essentially a courtroom drama," he says. "It’s a very powerful story. It comments on how war is wrong and there is no right side and it’s all sort of fucked up...I play an American solider coming back from the war who is assigned to defend this Japanese general simply because he studied law before he went into service. The Americans are trying to set him up for the fall. My character becomes aware of that and really does his best to get him off the hook. Because of the corruptness of war, it doesn’t really work out for him...It felt like a good way of commenting on what is going on around the world without actually saying what is going on around the world.”

Hayden's Scarf Brings Out His Pretty Blue EyesHayden Christensen looked kinda abnormally hot leaving the TRL studio where he was promoting Awake Monday afternoon. I fully contend that he can turn it out in photoshoots, but usually when he's left to dress himself and not all primped up, I have a hard time seeing his handsomeness. (read and see more)

Jessica enjoyed working with Hayden
He may be recognised the world over as evil Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in the hit Star Wars prequels, but according to Jessica Alba, Hayden Christensen is as modest an actor as they come.
"Hayden is lovely. Very sweet, very humble," the 26-year-old actress told Extra. "I guess he's the opposite of what people think of somebody with his amount of success and notoriety in this business. He's known all over the world. Girls scream at him everywhere but he's so shy.
"He's not that cocky guy. He gives everyone hugs. On the first day on set, he brought me cupcakes he got with his grandparents. He's a real good person."

An upcoming Hollywood horror movie promises to do for surgery what Jaws did for swimming in the ocean.
Awake, opening at the end of the month and starring Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen, is about a patient whose failed anesthesia leaves him fully conscious but paralyzed during surgery.
Doctors assumed he was "put under" but he was not. Could this actually happen?
Unfortunately the experience, known as anesthesia awareness, is real, not fictional.

Jessica, Hayden and Rachel Are Wide Awake in NYCWhile she's not the star of the film, I must say that fresh off her morning of charity Rachel Bilson stole the show in her strapless blue and white at last night's Manhattan premiere of the thriller Awake. She was out to support her boy, Hayden, who is in the movie alongside Jessica Alba, who herself was dateless. Sadly it looks like R-Bils and Hayden are taking their cues from the Affleck-Garners and didn't do the red carpet thing. New Sighting
(...) When the crew needed to watch their footage in Ashley's basement, we might have been expected to leave. But Liman referred to my friend and me as "our guests" and allowed us to stay. Some time later, the director went off to shoot exteriors and I was left to have an hour-long conversation with Hayden Christensen.
I had thought it would be impossible to try to make small talk with someone like Christensen without being dumbfounded by his star power, but something about the fact that he had ordered and eaten a 8-incher from Jimmy John's made it easier to strike up a conversation. I was pleasantly surprised to find the actor engaging, polite and respectful of the many fans who walked by begging for autographs.
I asked him, "Do you mind all this?"
"This is what I signed up for," he replied. "I remember when I went to hockey games and asked for signatures; I liked the guys that gave them, didn't like the ones that didn't."
Now that's just classy.
And I will add, there's no experience more humbling than standing next to an actor for an hour and having every girl who passes comment on how hot he looks. (...)

More casting rumours
Kirsten Dunst is rumoured to have been offered the role of Vivienne Westwood in a new film about her life according to Hollywood rumours.
The actress is apparently front runner to bag the role according to fashionista but nothing has been confirmed and filming will not start until next year.
The part of Westwood's partner Malcolm McLaren is rumoured to have already been given to Hayden Christiansen.

New Project for Hayden?
Hayden Christensen will star in "Beast of Bataan," the true story of the trial of the Japanese general who was executed for his role in the 1942 Bataan Death March, during which thousands of American and Filipino POWs died on a forced march to captivity.
Christensen is playing the rookie attorney who defended the general, Masaharu Homma, during his war crimes trial in the Philippines. (... read mrore)
